Prostate Edmonton Peer Support Society (PEPSS) is an Edmonton based prostate support society dedicated to peer support of men diagnosed with prostate cancer or living with the complications of the disease.
Our goals
To provide individual support and up-to-date, well-researched medical information from authorized sources; to assist individuals with prostate cancer and their families to cope with and understand the nature of prostate cancer.
Share experiences and promote empathy and camaraderie among survivors in the greater Edmonton area and our Northern neighbor communities.
Promote awareness of prostate cancer and associated issues; as well as early diagnosis and treatment.
Promote public education, outreach, and support through integrity, dignity, and understanding
Encourage a greater sense of partnering with our medical practitioners, and attaining empowerment through knowledge and information.

Elevated PSA From Screening: What to Do?
An article on the VeryWell website by Mark Scholz, MD. It provides some very useful information for men who have been informed that their PSA level is elevated. Keep scrolling down the page to find a number of interesting articles. This is an American website, not all the tests it mentions may be available in Alberta or northern Canadian communities.
An excellant, very thorough set of publications on all aspects of prostate cancer. Covers testing, treatment options, treatment side effects, and advanced prostate cancer. Very interesting are the sections on the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment option. The information can be viewed online or downloaded as PDF files. Be aware that some of the information is specific to the United Kingdom, you can just ignore those parts.

We are incorporated as a Charitable Organization under the Alberta Societies Act as: PROSTATE EDMONTON PEER SUPPORT SOCIETY. Donations are used to support our information services: meetings, brochures, website, information tables, etc.
We are registered as a charitable organization with Canada Revenue Agency(CRA), therefore able to issue tax deduction receipts for donations - (R 73660 9686 RR0001)
We are associated with the Prostate Cancer BC Foundation. We are also associated with the Prostate Canada Network, a nation wide community dedicated to increasing awareness and providing online education, printed materials and fundraising opportunities.
